They are as follows: Lyubko Deresh, Kateryna Kalytko, and Iryna Tsilyk.
The finalists have been chosen by Polish-Ukrainian jury (Katarzyna Węzowska, Bohdan Zadura, Vitalii Sych, Yevheniy Stasinevych and Hanna Uliura) among 22 writers nominated by Ukrainian and foreign cultural institutions, publishing houses and readers.
The name of the laureate will be announced on 15th of November in Kyiv. Apart from 3000 euros from Polish Institute in Kyiv, the laureate also receives the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland "GAUDE POLONIA” from the Partner of the Award, the National Center of Culture in Warsaw.
The prize was founded in 2007 and is awarded once in two years. This year’s prize will be awarded for the sixth time.
The prize is awarded to a living Ukrainian author less than 40 years of age regardless of their place of residence for prose works in Ukrainian that addresses relevant topics, promotes reflection, increases knowledge about other cultures. The jury will appraise only prose works of candidates and will not consider their works of poetry, dramaturgy, and literary criticism.
